The Fairfax County Federation of Women’s Clubs was federated in 1948, and is currently the only City or County Federation in GFWC Virginia. We are also affiliated with the Northern District, GFWC Virginia.

Our mission is to obtain a better understanding of federation principles among clubwomen of Fairfax County, to unify effort in achieving mutual goals, and to strengthen the influence of federated women’s clubs. We provide a forum for exchange of information and ideas among its members.

We have four regular meetings each year, usually in November, January, March and May. Our meetings feature a pot luck lunch, a short business meeting, and a program. Our programs are designed to support participation of our member clubs in activities relating to the six GFWC departments, and in GFWC Virginia special projects.

As ways to raise funds for various charities and service agencies that have been approved by our members, we have sponsored outings to dinner theaters and places of interest as far away as Fredericksburg, VA. Recently we sponsored an Afternoon Tea to raise funds for the current GFWC Virginia Special Project, which is to raise $60,000 for Easter Seals Virginia to rebuild its Camp for people with special needs. This Camp is located in southwestern Virginia and was devastated by the hurricanes last September.We encourage clubs within Fairfax County to join us and benefit from our programs and the sharing of ideas and enthusiasm with other clubs.

Our member clubs are drawn from Fairfax County, with some participation by clubs in Arlington County and Alexandria.
